From the Tirana East Bus Terminal, you can get on a bus to:

Apart from the International bus routes, you can also get on a national bus to the South-East of Albania, destinations like:

The East Bus Terminal of Tirana is also called “Terminali Lindor I Autobusave” and it is located at the Tirana East Gate or TEG Shopping Centre. So all these names mean the same location:

IMPORTANT: Before 2024, International buses departed from the old International bus terminal behind the Asllan Rusi Sports Palace near the Ring Shopping Center. However, the vast majority of bus agencies and bus drivers now depart from the NEW Tirana East Bus Terminal at the TEG Shopping Centre.

IMPORTANT: Before 2024, buses to the South-East of Albania to destinations near Lake Ohrid departed from the old South-East Terminal in the Qyteti Studenti Quarter of Tirana and near the Grand Park. However, the buses to the South-East of Albania now depart from the NEW Tirana East Bus Terminal at the TEG Shopping Centre.

In Albania it is common practice to go to the bus terminal in person and pay for your bus ticket in cash. The vast majority of Albanian people do not book their bus ticket online in advance. Locals simply go to the bus terminal, walk into the bus agency’s office and pay cash. So that is the standard in Albania. 

Even though it might be common practice to book bus tickets online and pay in advance online in your country. This is not common in Albania. 

Always carry some cash, like euros and Albanian Leke, with you whilst travelling in Albania. Because that is what is expected in Albania. Of course, you can use the ATMs in the city centres and shopping malls.

Where exactly is the Tirana East Bus Terminal located?

The Tirana East Bus Terminal is located outside the city centre of Tirana at the TEG Shopping Centre. 

As of 2024, International buses and buses to the South-East of Albania depart from the Tirana East Bus Terminal. This bus terminal is also called “Terminali Lindor I Autobusave”. This new bus terminal is located at the TEG Tirana East Gate Shopping Centre. 

How do I get to the East Bus Terminal in Tirana?

The Tirana East Gate Bus Terminal is located at the TEG Tirana East Gate Shopping Centre. You can get to the bus terminal and the TEG Shopping centre by taking city bus line 2 or city bus line 8. 

  • Bus Line 2 departs from the Former Train Station via the Tirana Zoo to TEG Shopping Centre
  • Bus Line 8 departs from the Former Train Station via the city centre, Sauk and Sanatorium to TEG Shopping Centre

There are two buses from the city centre of Tirana to the TEG Tirana East Gate Shopping Centre. The Tirana East Bus Terminal is located at the TEG Shopping Centre. From the city centre, you can either take bus line 2 or bus line 8 to get to the TEG Tirana East Gate Shopping Centre and the Tirana East Bus Terminal on site.

Bus line 2 to TEG Shopping Centre

Bus line 2 starts from the Former Train Station near the centre of Tirana and it drives via the Tirana Zoo to the TEG Shopping Centre/Tirana East Bus Terminal.

Bus line 8 to TEG Shopping Centre

Bus line 8 also starts from the Former Train Station near the centre of Tirana and it drives via the city centre, Sauk and the Sanatorium to the TEG Shopping Centre/Tirana East Bus Terminal.

Bus line 2 and bus line 8 are city buses operated by the Municipality of Tirana. You are expected to pay cash onboard the bus. So make sure you bring some Albanian Leke coins or small notes with you before going to the bus stop.

How to get from Tirana airport to the Tirana East Bus Terminal?

There is no direct bus from Tirana airport to the Tirana East Bus Terminal. Of course, you can take a taxi from Tirana airport to the Tirana East Bus Terminal which will cost you 15-25 euros.

If you want to take a bus from Tirana airport to Tirana East Bus Terminal, you must transfer buses. Here are the steps:

  • Step 1: Bus from Tirana airport to the city centre of Tirana
  • Step 2: Bus from the city centre of Tirana to the Tirana East Bus Terminal

To get from Tirana airport to the Tirana East Bus Terminal by bus, you must first take a bus to the city centre of Tirana. 

You can get a bus from Tirana Airport to Tirana’s city centre. There is a direct bus from Tirana Airport to Tirana’s city centre operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 

Buses depart from Tirana Airport at 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, 4:00, 5:00, 6:00, 7:00, 8:00, 9:00, 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00, 17:00, 18:00, 19:00, 20:00, 21:00, 22:00, 23:00 and 24:00. A bus ticket costs 400 Leke (4 euros) per person, you can pay cash or book online.

Once you are in the city centre of Tirana, you can transfer onto a bus to the Tirana East Bus Terminal.

Once the Tirana airport bus drops you off in the city center of Tirana, you can transfer onto a bus to the Tirana East Bus Terminal. 

From the city centre of Tirana, you can either take bus line 2 or bus line 8 to get to the Tirana East Bus Terminal at the TEG Shopping Centre.

Both bus line 2 and bus line 8 have the TEG Shopping Centre as their final destination. Once you get off the bus at the TEG Shopping Centre, you can walk to the Tirana East Bus Terminal at the front of the TEG Shopping Centre.

Is there a parking lot at the Tirana East Bus Terminal?

There is a parking lot at the Tirana East Bus Terminal. The Tirana East Bus Terminal is located at the TEG Shopping Centre. At the TEG Shopping Centre there is a 2 level underground parking garage with a capacity of 2000 parking spaces. You will get a parking ticket from the automated ticket machine upon entering and you will be charged before departure.

How do I get from the Tirana East Bus Terminal to Tirana’s city centre?

You can get from the Tirana East Gate Bus Terminal to the city centre with bus line 2 or bus line 8. If you have just arrived at the Tirana East Gate Bus Terminal or TEG Shopping Centre, you may need to walk to the back of the TEG Shopping Center to get to the city bus stop.

How do I get from the Tirana East Bus Terminal to the airport?

You can get from the Tirana East Bus Terminal to Tirana Airport by direct taxi or by transferring buses in the city centre of Tirana. 

  • Sky Taxi Albania offers a taxi from Tirana East Bus Terminal to Tirana International Airport costs 1500 Leke (15 euros).
  • By bus: First, bus line 2 or bus line 8 to the city centre. Then transfer onto a bus from the city centre to Tirana Airport.

By bus, you must walk from the Tirana East Bus Terminal to the bus stop at the TEG Shopping Centre. From the bus stop, take either bus line 2 or bus line 8 to get to the city centre of Tirana. And get off near the central Skanderbeg Square. You can find the bus stop information above.

Once you are near Skanderbeg Square, walk to the bus station at the back of the Palace of Culture, Opera and Ballet. The direct bus from Tirana’s city centre to Tirana Airport departs from this bus station.

There are 3 bus terminals in Tirana. These are the main bus terminals in Tirana: 

Tirana East Bus Terminal at the TEG Shopping Centre

International buses and buses to the South-East of Albania depart from the Tirana East Bus Terminal at the TEG shopping centre. You can get on buses to Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Greece and other International destinations from the East Bus Terminal. You can also take national buses to places like Elbasan, Korca and Pogradec in the South-East of Albania and near Lake Ohrid.

Tirana city centre bus terminal
In the city centre, there is a bus terminal near the central Skanderbeg Square. This bus terminal offers buses to and from Tirana Airport. You can also get on a city bus for different neighbourhoods in Tirana. As a tourist, you may be interested in the bus to Porcelan, which will bring you to the Dajti Express Cable Car and Bunk’Art 1 Bunker Museum.

The Tirana city centre bus terminal is located near Skanderbeg Square. From Skanderbeg Square, take the walkway in between the Palace of Culture and the Et’hem Bej Mosque and walk towards the Plaza Hotel. This will bring you to the Tirana city center bus terminal in front of the Plaza Hotel.

Tirana Bus Terminal North and South Albania.
This is the main bus terminal for national buses to the North and South of Albania. You can get on a bus from Tirana to popular destinations include Shkoder, Kruje, Durres, Berat, Vlore, Saranda, Himare, Gjirokaster, Fier and Lushnje.

How to get from the Tirana Bus Terminal North and South Albania to the airport?

From the Tirana Bus Terminal North and South Albania you can take a bus to Tirana Airport. At the bus terminal you must look for a bus to “Fushe-Kruje”. There are two bus lines from the bus terminal to Fushe Kruje, and you must take the bus line that drives via “Rinas”. Rinas is the village where Tirana Airport is located. So always check with the bus driver you got on the bus that drives by Tirana Airport in Rinas. 

Buses from the Tirana Bus Terminal North and South Albania via Tirana Airport/Rinas to Fushe-Kruje depart at 7:00 AM, 8:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 13:00 PM, 14:00 PM, 15:00 PM, 16:00 PM and 17:00 PM. 

Alternatively, you can take a taxi from the bus terminal to Tirana airport, which may cost you around 20-25 euros.

How to get from the Tirana Bus Terminal North and South Albania to the city centre?

The Tirana Bus Terminal North and South Albania is located outside the city centre of Tirana, so you must take a taxi or bus to get to the city center of Tirana. 

When you arrive at the Tirana Bus Terminal North and South Albania, you must exit the bus terminal through the main gate. Then cross the street towards the “Terminal Hotel”. There is a petrol station in front of the “Terminal Hotel”. This is where the bus stop is located. At the bus stop, look for a bus towards “Qender” which means “city center” in Albanian language. You must pay for the bus in cash, Albanian Leke, so perhaps go to the ATM first.

Does Tirana have good public transport? Tirana offers regular public transport. Public transport in Albania is a bit old fashioned. Usually intercity buses within Albania’s borders are old minibuses that you can only pay for in cash. International buses may be more modern and can be booked in advance online. There are no trains in operation from Tirana at this time, although a new railway is under construction between Tirana, Tirana airport and Durres.
