  • There are ferry boats from Saranda in the South of Albania to Corfu island. 
  • Corfu is a Greek island, but it is closer to the Albanian coastline. So close you can clearly see the island on the horizon in Saranda and Ksamil.
  • Ferries from Saranda to Corfu are operated by Finikas Lines and Ionian Seaways.
  • Ferry tickets cost between 25-40 EUR per person.
  • Ferry timetables change with the seasons. In the summer months, you can expect a ferry departure almost every hour between 6:00 and 20:00. See ferry timetable below.
  • There are speed ferries and slower car/passenger ships.
  • The speed ferries take 30 minutes. And the slower car/passenger ships can take 50 min – 70 min.

Saranda to Corfu ferry timetable

  • From 1 January until 6 March 2026, there is 1 x ferry departure per day from Saranda to Corfu at 10:00 AM. 
  • From 7 March until 10 April 2026, there are 2 x ferry departures per day from Saranda to  Corfu at 10:00 AM and 16:00 PM. 
  • From 11 April until 30 April 2026, ferries from Saranda to Corfu depart at 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM and 16:00 PM. 
  • From 1 May until 31 May 2026, ferries from Saranda to Corfu depart at 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 14:00 PM, 15:00 PM, 16:00 PM and 18:00 PM.

  • From 16 October until 31 October 2026, ferries from Saranda to Corfu depart at 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 13:00 PM, 15:00 PM, 16:00 PM and 18:00 PM. 
  • From 1 November until 10 November 2026, ferries from Saranda to Corfu depart at 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM and 16:00 PM.

Saranda to Corfu time difference

  • IMPORTANT: There is a 1 hour time difference between Saranda and Corfu.
  • Corfu is one hour ahead of Saranda, due to the timezones.
  • So if it is 6AM in Saranda, it is 7AM in Corfu. 
  • Which means if you depart Saranda at 8AM, the ferry journey takes 30 minutes, you will arrive at 9:30 AM, due to the time difference. 
  • Of course, this is very important to bear in mind if you are trying to catch a flight from Corfu Airport!

  • The ferries from Saranda to Corfu are operated by Finikas Lines and Ionian Seaways. 
  • Their ferry offering is very similar, their pricing is very similar and their timetables are nearly identical. 

Saranda to Corfu ferry price

  • A ferry ticket from Saranda to Corfu costs between 25-40 EUR. 
  • At the time of writing this blog, Finikas Lines charges either 32 EUR per person or 40 EUR per person, depending on the time & boat you select.

Booking the Saranda to Corfu ferry

  • You can try to book your ferry ticket from Saranda to Corfu online on the website of Finikas Lines or the website of Ionian Seaways.
  • I will say that in Albania it is common practice to pay cash for everything in person. So buying a ticket at the ticket office in Saranda is still very popular.
  • If you cannot book your ferry ticket online, because the website does not work. Simply go to the ticket office in person and pay cash. 
  • In the summer there are a lot of ferry boats every day, so you can always take the next available boat.

Saranda to Corfu day trip

  • In the spring, summer or autumn, you can make a day trip from Saranda to Corfu.
  • In the winter months, there is only 1 x ferry per day, so you would need to stay overnight in Corfu and take the ferry back to Saranda the next morning.
  • You can plan an independent day trip. You could take a ferry from Saranda to Corfu at 6:00 AM, 7:00 AM, 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM. And then take a ferry back from Corfu to Saranda at 16:00, 17:00, 18:00, 19:00 or 20:00 PM. 
  • You could also book an organized day trip. Both Finikas Lines and Ionian Seaways offer day trips from Saranda to Corfu. That includes ferry tickets, transport by bus and a tour guide. 
  • You could for instance book a day trip from Saranda to the Old Town of Corfu and the village of Paleokastritsa.

Saranda to Corfu ferry duration

  • There are speed ferries and slower car/passenger boats in operation between Saranda and Corfu.
  • The speed ferries called Highspeed Hydrofoil or Flying Dolphins are fast. It only takes about 30 minutes to get from Saranda to Corfu with the Flying Dolphin.
  • Then there are the more traditional passenger & car ferries which are slower. It takes between 50 min and 70 minutes to get from Saranda to Corfu with the passenger/car ferry. 
  • In the summer months, the ferry companies offer a combination of speed ferries and slower car ferries. 
  • You will see colour coding on the timetables published online. Finikas lines shows speed ferries in red and car ferries in blue. Ionian Seaways shows speed ferries in blue and car ferries in green.

Saranda to Corfu ferry by car

  • You can take a car onboard the ferry from Saranda to Corfu by booking the car ferry.
  • That being said, Greek rental cars or Corfu rental cars are not allowed to cross the border to Albania. 
  • Ionian Seaways even states on their timetable: “The transport of rental cars from Corfu to Albania is not permitted.”
  • If you want to take a rental car from Albania to Corfu, you can ask your car rental company for permission to cross the border.
  • To take a car from Saranda to Corfu, you must book the car ferry. In the summer months, car ferries depart at 6:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 14:00 PM, 15:00 PM and 20:00 PM. 
  • Ferry timetables published online on the website of Finikas Lines and Ionian Seaways show car ferries in a different color. 

What is the Saranda to Corfu ferry timetable?

Below, I have published the Saranda to Corfu ferry timetable for 2026. Ferries from Saranda to Corfu are operated by Finikas Lines and Ionian Seaways. 

The ferry timetables for Finikas Lines and Ionian Seaways are almost identical. Which you will see if you look at the ferry timetables of Finikas Lines and Ionian Seaways online. 

Saranda to Corfu ferry timetable for 2026

  • From 1 January until 6 March 2026, there is 1 x ferry departure per day from Saranda to Corfu at 10:00 AM. 
  • From 7 March until 10 April 2026, there are 2 x ferry departures per day from Saranda to  Corfu at 10:00 AM and 16:00 PM. 
  • From 11 April until 30 April 2026, ferries from Saranda to Corfu depart at 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM and 16:00 PM. 
  • From 1 May until 31 May 2026, ferries from Saranda to Corfu depart at 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 14:00 PM, 15:00 PM, 16:00 PM and 18:00 PM.

How long is the ferry from Saranda to Corfu?

The ferry from Saranda to Corfu takes either 30 minutes by speed ferry or 50-70 min by slower car ferry. 

There are different types of ferry boats in operation between Saranda and Corfu. 

You can book the speed ferry, called the Highspeed Hydrofoil or Flying Dolphin. By speed ferry, it takes only 30 minutes to get from Saranda to Corfu.

Or you can book the more traditional passenger and car ferry. By passenger & car ferry, it takes about 50-70 minutes to get from Saranda to Corfu.

How can I book the ferry from Saranda to Corfu?

You can book a ferry ticket online or you can go to the ticket office in person and pay cash. Both Ionian Seaways and Finikas Lines have a “Book Now” button on their website. 

IMPORTANT: Tourists have reported that the online reservation systems on the websites of Ionian Seaways and Finikas Lines don’t always work. Don’t worry about it. You can simply go to the ticket office and buy a ticket in person.

In Albania, the locals pay for 99% of their expenses by cash. Locals usually carry euros and Albanian Leke in their wallets. So it is still very much the standard to pay for everything, including bus tickets and ferry tickets, by cash in person at the ticket office. So if online reservation systems don’t work, that does not mean the ferry is not available. It simply means that the online reservation system probably does not work so well.

Saranda to Corfu day trip

You can make a day trip from Saranda to Corfu in the spring, summer or autumn season. 

In the winter, a day trip from Saranda to Corfu is not possible as there is only 1 x ferry departure per day. So in the winter, you would need to stay overnight in Corfu and take a ferry back to Saranda the next day. 

You could make a day trip from Saranda to Corfu independently. If you book a ferry ticket from Saranda to Corfu in the early morning. You could explore Corfu during the day. And then take the ferry back from Corfu to Saranda in the late afternoon or evening. 

You could take a ferry from Saranda to Corfu at 6:00 AM, 7:00 AM, 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM. And then take a ferry back from Corfu to Saranda at 16:00, 17:00, 18:00, 19:00 or 20:00 PM. 

The alternative is booking an organized day trip. Both Finikas Lines and Ionian Seaways offer day trips from Saranda to Corfu. That includes ferry tickets, transport by bus and a tour guide. 

To give you an example, you could for instance book a day trip from Saranda to the Old Town of Corfu and the village of Paleokastritsa. This program would include a ferry journey from Saranda to Corfu at 10AM, then a bus journey to the old town of Corfu for shopping time, then a bus journey to the town of Paleokastritsa for free time at the beach & lunch, and then a bus journey back to the ferry port and a ferry back from Corfu to Saranda at 19:00 PM. 

Saranda to Corfu ferry with car

You can take a car onboard the ferry from Saranda to Corfu, if you book the car ferry and if the car is not a Greek rental car. 

Greek rental cars and Corfu rental cars are not allowed to cross the border to Albania. The Ionian Seaways website states several times: “The transport of rental cars from Corfu to Albania is not permitted.” This has to do with Greek insurance for rental cars, which includes Corfu island.

If you want to take a private car from Saranda to Corfu, that is possible of course. You can book one of the car ferries operated by Ionian Seaways or Finikas Lines. This summer, car ferries depart at 6:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 14:00 PM, 15:00 PM and 20:00 PM. 

You can always check the ferry timetables of Finikas Lines and Ionian Seaways online on their website. The color coding will show what ferries are car ferries. Bear in mind that Highspeed – Hydrofoil (Flying Dolphin) ferries cannot be taken if you have a car. 

Cheapest ferry from Saranda to Corfu

Finikas Lines sells ferry tickets for 32 EUR or 40 EUR per person, depending on what timeslot & boat you select. In general, you can usually expect to pay anywhere between 25-40 EUR for a ferry ticket with either Ionian Seaways or Finikas Lines. Ferry tickets can be bought online or at the ticket office.

Is there a Ksamil to Corfu ferry?

There are no ferry boats from Ksamil to Corfu island, ferries depart from nearby Saranda. To get from Ksamil to Corfu, you would need to take a bus or taxi from Ksamil to Saranda. And then a ferry from the Port of Saranda to the Port of Corfu.

How to get from Ksamil to Corfu?

To get from Ksamil to Corfu, you must travel via Saranda. First, you take a bus or taxi from Ksamil to the Port of Saranda. And then you take a ferry from the Port of Saranda to Corfu island. 

  • Step 1: Ksamil to Saranda by bus or taxi
  • Step 2: Saranda to Corfu ferry

Below I will share all the information you need to take a bus or taxi from Ksamil to the Port of Saranda. So that you can then take a ferry from Saranda to Corfu. 

Step 1: Ksamil to Saranda by bus or taxi

To get to Corfu island, you must first take a bus or taxi from Ksamil to Saranda. 

The easiest way to get from Ksamil to Saranda is by taking a taxi. Taxis from Ksamil to Saranda cost around 20 – 40 EUR. Some travellers report getting charged 20-25 EUR, other travellers pay 30 EUR or 40 EUR for a taxi from Ksamil to Saranda. Of course, taxi drivers in Ksamil are independent, so you must agree on a price with your independent taxi driver.

UBER Taxi does not exist in Albania. To find a taxi from Ksamil to Saranda, you can either ask your hotel receptionist. Or you can search for “Taxi Ksamil” on Google Maps. Then, you can read reviews and message taxi drivers via WhatsApp. You will usually get responses from taxi drivers in minutes. Normally, the taxi journey takes 15-30 minutes, but traffic in the summer can slow your journey down. 

Alternatively, you can take a bus from Ksamil to Saranda. There are buses that drive from Butrint (to the South of Ksamil) via Ksamil to Saranda. Buses depart Butrint and 10-15 minutes later stop in Ksamil en route to Saranda. 

Buses depart from Butrint at these times and 10-15 minutes later these buses will stop in Ksamil before driving to Saranda: 7:00 AM, 7:30 AM, 8:00 AM, 8:30 AM, 9:00 AM, 9:30 AM, 10:00 AM, 10:30 AM, 11:00 AM, 11:30 AM, 12:30 PM, 13:30 PM, 14:30 PM, 15:30 PM, 16:30 PM, 17:00 PM, 17:30 PM, 18:00 PM, 18:30 PM, 19:00 PM and 19:30 PM. 

There are several bus stops along the main road that leads from Ksamil to Saranda (the SH81 road). One of the locations you can go to is called “Stacioni i autobuseve – Butrint Sarande” (meaning: bus stop Butrint-Saranda) as shown on Google Maps here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/xWxtu3QqMQVwvkhr6 

A bus ticket from Ksamil to Saranda costs 150 LEK (1.50 EUR) per person. You are expected to pay cash onboard the bus. So I highly recommend you have exactly 150 LEK or 200 LEK with you in cash before boarding the bus.

Bear in mind that buses from Ksamil to Saranda can be delayed due to traffic and often buses are packed and overcrowded in the summer months. 

Buses from Ksamil to Saranda drive onwards to the Port of Saranda. So you can get off the bus at the Port of Saranda, where you will find a ticket office for the ferry nearby. 

Step 2: Saranda to Corfu ferry

Once the taxi driver or bus driver drops you off at the Port of Saranda, you can take a ferry from Saranda to Corfu.

A ferry ticket costs between 25-40 EUR. At the time of writing this blog, Finikas Lines charges either 32 EUR per person or 40 EUR per person, depending on the time & boat you select.

There are speed ferries, called Highspeed Hydrofoil or Flying Dolphin, which take 30 minutes from Saranda to Corfu. And there are slower passenger & car ferries, which take 50-70 minutes from Saranda to Corfu. 

In the summer of 2026 (between 1 June and 15 October) ferries depart from Saranda to Corfu at 6:00 AM, 7:00 AM, 8:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 13:00 PM, 14:00 PM, 15:00 PM, 16:00 PM, 18:00 PM and 20:00 PM. I have included a detailed ferry timetable above (scroll up).
