When I was booking a trip from Corfu to Albania, I wondered how much the ferry tickets from Corfu to Albania cost. But I could not find a clear answer online. So, I decided to write a helpful blog post about the ticket prices of the ferry from Corfu to Albania.

How much is the ferry from Corfu to Albania? The ferry from Corfu to Albania is between €20.00 – €23.80 for an adult in high season for a one-way ticket. A return ticket from Corfu to Albania costs between €40.00 – €47.60 in high season. In the low season, a one-way ticket is between €18.00 -€19.00 or a return is €36.00 – €40.00.

Many travelers book a flight to the Greek Corfu island and take the ferry to Albania. However, depending on the season the ferry departs between 2 – 13 times a day. And you need to ensure the flight time matches up with the ferry boat departure. Moreover, the time difference and the travel to the Corfu port need to be taken into consideration as well. Let’s make sure you have all the information you need before taking the ferry from Corfu to Albania.

Corfu to Albania ferry price

There are four ferry companies, that have a regular service between Corfu and Albania. I have made a price comparison between the ferry tickets from all four companies.

The ferry ticket prices change by the season. There is a high season from the 1st of July until the 10th of September. And then there is a low season from the 11th of September until the 30th of June.

The ferry boats depart at the Port of Corfu and arrive in the Albania city Saranda. There are four companies, that operate a ferry boat between Corfu and Saranda. The companies are Ionian Seaways, Finikas Lines, Sarris Cruises & Lines and Joy Lines. However, Ionian Seaways and Finikas Lines work together, so their ticket prices and timetables are identical.

As you can see, there are only slight differences in price between the ferry boat companies. In the high season, a ferry boat ticket from Corfu to Saranda will cost you between €20.00 – €23.80 for a one-way ticket. A return trip in the high season will cost you between €40.00 – €47.60.

In the low season, a ferry boat ticket from Corfu to Albania costs between €18.00 – €20.00 for a one-way trip. A return trip in the low season will cost between €36.00 – €40.00.

How much is the ferry from Corfu to Albania for a child?

Children under the age of 12 usually travel with the ferry for around half the price. For your reference, I have enclosed the prices for a child travelling by ferry from Corfu to Albania.

For children under the age of 12 years old, you can get a cheaper ferry boat tickets. Once again, the prices between the ferry companies are very similar. In the high season, a ferry boat ticket from Corfu to Saranda for a child will cost you between €10.00 – €13.00 for a one-way ticket. A return trip in the high season for a child will cost you between €20.00 – €26.00.

In the low season, a ferry boat ticket from Corfu to Albania for a child costs between €8.00 – €10.00 for a one-way trip. A return trip in the low season for a child will cost between €16.00 – €20.00.

Infants (under the age of 3 years old) pay between €3.00 – €5.00 for a ferry ticket with Ionian Seaways, Finikas Lines and Joy Lines. Sarris Cruises and Lines allows babies on board for free.

How much is the ferry from Corfu to Albania for a car?

If you would like to bring a car on board the ferry from Corfu to Albania, you will pay the same price with all ferry companies. To bring the car on a one-way trip, it costs between €40.00 – €42.00. For a return ferry trip, the prices are between €80.00 – €84.00. The prices do not change in high season or low season, they remain the same.

How long is the ferry from Corfu to Saranda?

The ferry from Corfu to Saranda is 30 minutes by speed boat or 70 minutes by ferry boat. There are two types of boats crossing the sea between Corfu and Saranda. Firstly, there is the flying dolphin boat, which is a high-speed boat. And secondly, the more classical ferry boat.

The main difference between the two ships is that the ferry boats can bring cars on board. Whereas the flying dolphin boat is only suitable for passengers.

The decision is yours, if you are travelling without a car, you can save yourself time by booking the flying dolphin. On the other hand, you might enjoy the calmer ferry boat. On the ferry boat, you can take pictures and enjoy the views while crossing the sea.

At what time does the ferry from Corfu to Saranda depart?

The ferry from Corfu to Saranda departs between 2 – 13 times a day depending on the season. To make it easy for you, I have enclosed the Corfu to Saranda ferry timetable below. There are 3 x different time tables for each of the ferry companies: Ionian Seaways, Sarris Cruises and Lines and Joy Lines.

The high season is in July and August, therefore there are many ferry departures. In the high-season, Ionian Seaways has 6 departures a day at 7:30, at 9:00, at 11:45, at 13:30, at 17:15 and at 19:00. Sarris Cruises and Lines has between 2 and 3 boat departures a day, but the departure times vary by weekday. In the high season, Joy Lines has five boats a day at 9:00, at 9:30, at 13:30, at 17:15 and at 19:30. However, on Mondays in high-season Joy Lines has only three boat departures a day.

In the spring and autumn, there are less ferry boat departures a day. In April, May, June, September and October, Ionian Seaways operates between 2 – 3 boats a day. The boat departs at 9:00, at 13:00 and at 18:30. In May, June, September and October, Joy Lines also operates between 2 – 4 ferry boats a day. Their ferries depart at 9:00, 9:30, 13:30 or 16:30.

In the winter, there are only two ferry boats from Corfu to Albania. Between November and March, Ionian Seaways only departs at 9:00 am. Between November and April, Joy Lines departs once at day at 8:30 am. Sarris Cruises and Lines does not operate in the winter.

***IMPORTANT***

There is a time difference between Albania and Corfu. The Greek Corfu island is 1 hour ahead of Albania. This is very important if you are travelling back from Saranda to Corfu and you have a flight to catch. Bear in mind that you will lose one hour when you arrive in Corfu.

How close is Albania to Corfu?

The distance between Albania and Corfu is 35 kilometres. Although Corfu is a Greek island, it is closer to the Albanian coast.  As there are no bridges connecting Corfu to Albania, the only option is to take a ferry boat. The ferry boats depart from the Port of Corfu and they arrive in the port to Saranda.

From many of the beaches to the south of Saranda, you can see Corfu island. The famous Ksamil beach and Butrint UNESCO sight are the closest to Corfu. However, the ferry port is slightly to the north in the city Saranda.

Where can you book the ferry from Corfu to Albania?

You can book the ferry from Corfu to Albania either online or at the ferry port.

There are four ferry companies that operate ferries from Corfu to Albania. These are Ionian Seaways, Finikas Lines, Sarris Cruises & Lines and Joy Lines. However, Ionian Seaways and Finikas Lines work together, so their prices and timetables are identical. So, of course, you can book ferry tickets directly on the website of the ferry operator. As you have already seen above, the times and prices are very similar for all ferry companies.

Moreover, if you search online for a ferry ticket from Corfu to Saranda, you will also see Direct Ferries in the search results. Direct Ferries does not operate ferries, but rather it is a price comparison platform. On their website, you can search by date, by time and the number of people. As a result, Direct Ferries will compare all the prices and show the available ferry times for all the ferry companies.

It is also possible to book the ferry tickets at the port. Each of the ferry companies has a little ticket office close to the port. Moreover, travel agents in the area also sell the ferry tickets.

Where is the ferry port in Corfu?

The ferry port in Corfu is about 1.5 kilometres from the Kerkyra City Center, which is the main town of Corfu. Since the Corfu port and the old town are close together, you can easily walk the distance. Do not worry about the directions, because there is signage along the way. It is also possible to take the bus into town.

The ferry port in Saranda is very close to the city center. From the port, you can walk to the touristic attractions.

How do I get from Corfu airport to the port?

You can get from Corfu airport to the port by taxi or by bus. The Corfu airport taxis are the quickest way to travel, because the taxis are waiting at the airport. The taxi travel time is 12 minutes and it will cost you €15 – €20.

It is also possible to get from Corfu airport to the port by bus. At the airport take Bus Line No 15, which connects the airport with the port of Corfu. The bus departs from the Corfu airport, passes by the intercity bus station, through the city center, by San Rocco Square and then it drives to the port. Bus line 15 makes two stops at the port, one stop behind the ferry boat ticket offices and then at the ferry departure point for ships for Albania.

The bus ticket will cost you €1.20 and the bus trip takes around 20 minutes.

Saranda to Corfu ferry times

The ferry from Saranda to Corfu departs between 2 – 13 times a day depending on the season.

The Albanian high season is in July and August, therefore there are up to 13 ferry departures per day in this period. In the high season, Ionian Seaways has 6 departures a day from Saranda to Corfu. The ferry departs at 6:30, 8:45, 10:30, 14:00, 16:00 and 19:30. Sarris Cruises and Lines has between 2 and 3 boat departures a day, but the departure times vary by weekday. And Joy Lines offers five departures a day at 6:00, 9:15, 10:15, 16:15 and 17:15. However, only on Mondays there are only three boat departures at 6:00, 9:45 and 16:15.

In the spring and autumn, the ferries between Saranda and Corfu are less frequent. In April, May, June, September and October, Ionian Seaways operates between 2 – 3 boats a day. The ferries depart at 8:45, 10:30 and 16:00 in spring and autumn. In May, September and October, Joy Lines departs between 2 – 3 times a day. There are boats at 10:15, 16:30 and 17:15.

In the winter, there are only two ferry boats from Albania to Corfu. Between November and March, Ionian Seaways only departs at 13:00 pm. Between November and April, Joy Lines departs once a  day at 10:30 am. Sarris Cruises and Lines does not operate in the winter.

What is there to do in Saranda?

The best things to do in Saranda are Ksamil beach, Butrint UNESCO heritage site and the Blue Eye of Albania.

Ksamil beach is a paradise-like beach to the south of Saranda. The beach is set on a little peninsula with perfect white sand. The water is incredibly clear and turquoise-green color. Across the beach, there are four little uninhabited islands, that you can visit by boat, by swimming or by kayak.

Butrint UNESCO sight is an archaeological site in a beautiful setting. You can see the ruins of an ancient city that was occupied by the Greeks, the Romans, the Byzantines and the Ottoman Turks. The ruins are set in a beautiful setting; Trees and nature have grown around the archaeological remains. And the little hill on which the ancient city was set is surrounded by water.

Blue Eye Albania is a beautiful water spring, with an amazing blue color. The spring pumps water from an underwater cave to the surface. The color of the spring is so incredibly bright and blue, that it is unbelievable that is a natural spring. The spring resembles a human eye; The black underwater cave is the pupil and the blue water looks like the iris of a human eye.

How do I get from Saranda to Ksamil?

You can get from Saranda to Ksamil beach, by car, by bus or by taxi. The distance between Saranda and Ksamil is only 12 kilometres.

By car, take the road from Saranda in the direction of Butrint UNESCO sight. Ksamil is located along the road. It will take you only 10 minutes to drive from Saranda to Ksamil. By taxi, it will take only 10 minutes to reach Ksamil. The taxi price will be roughly €10.00.

To travel from Saranda to Ksamil by bus, you need to take the bus to Butrint. The bus from Saranda to Butrint stops in Ksamil along the way. The trip will take you roughly 30 minutes. And the price for the bus is 100 LEK, which is less than €1.00. The bus departs from 8:30 am and then every hour. You can get on the bus in the center of Saranda at Nene Theresa Square.
