There are two types of ferry boats between Corfu and Saranda. If you want to bring a car onboard the ferry, you must book the car ferry. Bear in mind, that the majority of boat departures are Highspeed Hydrofoil Flying Dolphins and you cannot bring a car onboard the Flying Dolphin. So you would need to specifically book the car ferry.
Below, I have added the car ferry timetable. I have only added the boats that can accommodate bringing a car onboard. In the winter months, there are no car ferry departures. If you want to make a day trip independently, you could take the first ferry from Corfu to Saranda departing at 8:30 AM or 9:00 AM. Then you can spend the day in Saranda. And take the last ferry back from Saranda to Corfu at 18:00 PM or 20:00 PM. It is worth going from Corfu to Saranda by ferry. You could stay in Saranda for a relaxing day or go sightseeing at destinations near Saranda.
If you decide to stay in Saranda, you could stroll along the boulevard and harbour and have a relaxing lunch at a restaurant overlooking the coastline. You could take a taxi up to Lekuresi Castle, which is located at the top of the city and offers views over the entire city and coastline below.
Alternatively, you could go sightseeing at destinations near Saranda. Here are some options:

Butrint and Ksamil are located along the same road, so you could visit the Butrint UNESCO park in the early morning and then go to Ksamil Beach in the afternoon.
The Blue Eye spring and Gjirokaster UNESCO city are in the same direction, so you could visit the Blue Eye spring for 1 hour and then drive onwards to Gjirokaster for lunch time in the old stone city.
Butrint UNESCO Park (30 min drive from Saranda)
Butrint is the most impressive UNESCO Heritage site in Albania. Throughout history, Butrint was a Greek city, a Roman city and a Biscopic. What makes Butrint special is the unique combination of archaeological ruins, which are surrounded by water and nature. Nature has integrated itself in the historical sight, which makes it a beautiful place to visit.
Butrint is an archaeological park, where you can see ruins and historical buildings from all the different periods throughout history. Butrint was initially a prehistoric site, with its first occupation dating back to 50 000 BC. Then from 800 BC, it became a Greek colony. In 44 BC, it was taken over by the Romans, who built an aqueduct across the Vivari channel to the mainland. Then in the 5th century AD, Butrint was ruled by the Church and its Bishop. In the 9th century, after briefly being abandoned, it was reconstructed by the Byzantine empire. In the 14th century, the Venetians controlled the site and strengthened the defensive works. And finally, Ali Pasha, an Albanian governor during the Ottoman empire, ruled the city. In the late middle ages, Butrint was abandoned.
Ksamil Beach & Ksamil islands (15-20 min drive from Saranda)
Ksamil beach is a paradise-like beach in the South of Albania. Therefore, the Albanian people describe Ksamil beach as “the pearl of the Albanian Riviera”. Without a doubt, Ksamil beach is the prettiest beach in the country. The beach is set on a little peninsula with perfect white sand. And the water in the bay is a bright green colour and the clearest water you have ever seen.
At Ksamil beach, there are four little islands in the sea close to the beach. The most famous are the twin islands, which are connected to each other by a narrow strip of land. If you have always wanted to visit an uninhabited island, this is your chance. From the beach, you can swim to the nearest island. Or you can rent a boat or kayak to visit the islands, which are further away.
Blue Eye spring (45 min drive from Saranda)
The Blue Eye of Albania is one of the most beautiful places to see in Albania. The Blue Eye is a natural freshwater spring. The natural spring pumps bright blue water to the surface of the river. The Blue Eye has become a tourist attraction since the water of the spring is a magical blue colour. The water is so bright, that you won’t believe it is all-natural.
Moreover, the spring resembles a human eye. The dark underwater cave looks like the black pupil of a human eye. And the bright blue water looks like the iris of a human eye. If you dare, you can jump into the Blue Eye spring, which is more than 50 metres deep. But bear in mind that the water is ice cold all year long.
Gjirokaster UNESCO city (1 hour drive from Saranda)
Gjirokaster is a historical city, which is on the UNESCO heritage list. Walking through Gjirokaster gives you an insight into what the city was like during the Turkish Ottoman Empire. The city has typical stone houses and cobblestone streets. Therefore, Gjirokaster is also known as the “stone city”.
The city of Gjirokaster is known in Albania as a “museum city” because it has beautiful historical buildings everywhere. It is a lovely city to stroll through.

Is Saranda worth a visit?
Saranda is worth a visit, if you enjoy staying in a buzzing coastal city in the summer months. Saranda is a big beach city, where you can expect many facilities. There are a great number of hotels and apartments. A coastline boulevard along the water with restaurants, bars and shops.
For sightseeing, it is worth driving up to Lekuresi Castle. This castle is located at the top of the mountain above Saranda and it offers amazing views over all of Saranda down with the Ionian Sea. It is absolutely beautiful and also stunning at night.
